Hirsch’s in Hillcrest held a cancer awareness breakfast meeting recently, with a talk by Megan Coleman, owner of Bodywise Wellness Centre in Westville (not to be confused with ex-Miss SA Megan).
Megan spoke about cancer awareness, signs, symptoms, prevention and early detection, including thermography and the session was a real eye-opener for the women who attended. Coleman said: “signs and symptoms of cancer can be varied, very noticeable in some cases and almost asymptomatic in others. The minute you notice a change in your health that is persistent and not normal for you, tell someone who cares about you.
Don’t ignore change. Preventative steps for cancer start with having a healthy body and mind.”
Denise Brand, who attended the meeting said, “I am very happy that I attended. This was very informative. It has made me aware to take responsibility for my health.”
