If you’re not much of a baker, or simply don’t have the time to bake a birthday cake for your kiddo, a fun and easy idea is to serve doughnuts with home-made toppings. You can buy plain doughnuts from the store, and set up a doughnut station where the kids can decorate their own doughnuts – what fun!
Here are some topping ideas to get you started.

Make a chocolate sauce and vanilla glazing and serve in bowls, with a variety of sprinkles to sprinkle on top.
Crunchy Nutella
Spread chocolate-hazelnut spread on plain doughnuts; sprinkle with chopped toasted hazelnuts.
