The Durban Motor Show has extended a torque-filled welcome to motor sport fans from across the country by creating a dedicated motor playground in the heart of the city. The Outdoor Arena will host a national SupaDrift Series and a dedicated Suicide Ride drifting track in the Durban City Centrum car park, adjacent to the Durban Exhibition Centre and with direct access from the show.
Visitors can expect to drool over modified up Nissan Skylines, Chevy Luminas and flag-bearing race babes, as they entertain crowds all day long.
SupaDrift Series
Drifting is the world’s fastest growing motor sport, where competitors slide rear-wheel, 600 bhp cars around interlinking corners – tyres smoking and engines roaring! South Africa’s top drivers will thrill Durban Motor Show visitors as they compete for pole position in the 8th event of the 9-stop SupaDrift national series. It’s going to be the most technical stop on the national circuit and the first ever to be held in a South African city centre.
Skate My Ride
Why should tuner lovers have all the fun of modifying cars? Visitors to the Durban Motor Show this year will get to see the infamous VW Beetle modified by skateboarders for a trick competition at the show. Visitors will get to watch as the best riders in the city grind off side doors, work a back bumper half pipe and jump clear over a car roof. The event is supported by Red Bull, Malaz Customs and Peg – Skate, Surf, and Lifestyle.
Spur Outdoor Experience
When it all gets a little too much, parents can visit the Spur Outdoor Experience, complete with a jumping castle, Playstation islands, and Spur’s much-loved burgers on sale. It will be the prefect place for parents to relax and for kids to let off a little steam.

Suicide Rides
A dedicated public drifting track will be set-up for those with a need for speed, or mischievous men who want to scare the life out of their unsuspecting wives or girlfriends. Chevy Luminas will give thrill seekers the opportunity to experience what it’s like to slide sideways around an entire track, engines roaring and blood pumping!
Epic Go-Carting
Rev those inner competitive engines for a go-cart race that will test the best go-carters’ driving skills. A full track will offer visitors a good blend of fast sweeping corners and technical tougher turns.
