As winter approaches, fashion designer and mom, Ruwaida Vawda, has some winter style tips for our readers.
Take a hint from celeb kids and the young royals; they pave the way for the influential trend list. Make sure your little ones are trending, whether for a play date or a party, with these tips that are stylish and warm.
Tweed: word on the runway is that we are returning to classics! With the rate they grow, oversized coats work well for mum and baby.
Leggings with everything: a mum’s best friend. Personalise your look with layering; the combinations are endless.
Puffer jackets: winter is no longer synonymous with shades of grey; metallic puffer jackets with neutral inners are a winner.
Bleached denim: jackets and jeans – a wardrobe staple that is season-friendly at any time of year.
Corduroys: it’s back to basics this season, comfortable and on trend.
Style hack: need an instant pick me up? The answer is simple – infinity scarves! Depending on print, this is a hit for boys and girls. All you need is a piece of fabric, scissors and basic sewing kit. For an adult the length is 60 inches, and for children, 48 inches. Once cut, fold fabric in half, lengthwise, pattern end inward. Stitch together, leaving one end open to turn on reverse, hand stitch neatly and puff up. And best news – no ironing required. Add motifs, beads or appliqué. There are a variety of ways to wear it, and twinning with the little ones has never been easier.
Fashion empowers us to embrace our personal style. Look good with minimal changes. We can glam up our lives – after all, we deserve to look like luxury, and this directly impacts how you feel on the inside – this is the kind of ‘happily ever after’ that lasts forever.
