This year’s East Coast Radio House and Garden Show and The Gardener Live section of the expo is pulling out all the stops to bring Durban a brand new version of the legendary winter event.
Dr Elliott Ndlovu’s tales of the magic of Africa, combined with his deep knowledge of the workings of the mind and traditional healing techniques, brings Show visitors a unique opportunity. For ten days all visitors will be able to absorb the heart of an ancient culture at the source, while learning how to create a medicinal herbal garden at home.
Dr Ndlovu lives deep in the Drakensberg where he divides his time between his rural home (where he continues to practice as a Sangoma) and the world-class Fordoun hotel and spa, situated in the Natal Midlands.
Together with Fordoun’s founder, Jon Bates, he has developed a signature indiginous plant product range to bring the power of traditional healing to the West. His range includes extracts from the Imunyamunya (Leonotis leonurus or ‘Wild Dagga’), Ukukwabafile (Artemisia afra), Inkomfe (Hypoxis hemerocallidae or the African potato) and other indigineous African plants.
Dr Ndlovu is a committed conservationist, winning the President’s Forestry Award among numerous others. He has consulted with Hollywood’s biggest stars, held a meeting with the British Queen, and hosted the State President for a Christmas visit.
Visitors to the Fordoun Hotel and Spa have been benefitting from Dr Ndlovu’s searing insight and healing treatments for years. This winter that privilege extends to all ECR House & Garden Show visitors.
Activities run from 1 – 10 July. The ECR House & Garden Show, #GottaHaveIt
