The SPAR KZN Shield Teens U18 Hockey Tournament regionals played at the Riverside Sports Club saw six teams competing in the pre-season schoolgirls hockey tournament. Danville Girls’ High’s consistent performance saw them land up level at the top of the log with host school Our Lady of Fatima Convent.

The number of goals scored by the two top teams proved the deciding factor and saw Our Lady of Fatima edge out Danville and advance through to the grand finals of the inaugural SPAR KZN Shield Teens U18 hockey Tournament on July 23 and 24, where they will meet nine other regions from around KwaZulu-Natal.
Rob Philipson, MD of SPAR KZN said, “The regionals were well organised, festive and played with great enthusiasm and in the spirit of how we intended. This is a superb time of the year to have arranged this event, with the weather holding out for all the games.”
