After the early months of motherhood, when the fog had somewhat lifted and I could envision life beyond multiple wakings, a milk-stained tee, and cold coffee, I found a new haze to walk into. The misty motherhood question of, “will I ever DO more than this?”
All I wanted as a mom was to be just that. A mom. But I wanted to have a purpose beyond just my little girl. I wanted to use my new title as a mom to link arms with others and share this journey together. I have found that community with time and it’s all come through a path of starting my very own business in network marketing. (It’s not as scary as it sounds – quite the contrary).
But how and why did I find a group of moms within this marketing company? Here’s why mamas are the new, best network marketers around:
1. We are built to inspire, motivate, and encourage. Once we become a mom we find ourselves thrown into the arena cheering on every milestone and moment. We celebrate with our friends when they fall pregnant, give birth, adopt, or when our kids start crawling, rolling, sitting, or walking. We are naturally inclined to call forth the gold in those before us which makes us able to dream big for ourselves and others.
2. Moms love to connect and engage with other moms and women. We crave that time to learn together, share stories, and just belong. In network marketing, you are bound to find yourself right at home with a group of other moms – top knots and loungewear on – all building their businesses with babies on their laps. And does this not sound so appealing? We all know how lonely motherhood can be and through connecting with other moms, you can make a group of friends to laugh, cry, and grow with!
3. We all have something to offer and love to contribute. I mean, put a group of women in a room and get them to plan a girls’ weekend. One of us will be sticking a hand up to-do lists, one will plan the itinerary, one will meal plan and cook, and one of us will choose the playlist for the car. We all love to work together to see the destination (in this case, the success we can ALL achieve together).
4. As I mentioned above, as a mom I know that all I wanted was to live a life of meaning. I wanted to be of value and provide something of value. So choosing to create a business that didn’t require much from a start-up point of view, makes that much more approachable and achievable. We all want to make a difference to the world right around us and this is one way we can do that, now.
5. We all want to be moms. One of the biggest reasons that moms are successful in network marketing is because the freedom (financially and time-wise) is so appealing and well-suited for still being a mom. You can still be at home with your little one/s and spend time with them while managing your business on the side. Your timeline on success can look as quick or slow as you choose based on your family and dreams. And for some of us, we also want dads to be dads. Running a business that can bring in a nice extra income can really bring the family unit back together in the way we all dream it to be.
More time as a family, more opportunities for my little girl, and more chances to make a difference is exactly why I choose to be a mama in network marketing.
