Sunday 23 June saw Zephyr Hair Design, Gillits, take part in the annual Employers’ Organisation for Hairdressing, Cosmetology and Beauty (EOHCB) hair competition at the Hilton Hotel in Durban.
The event featured hair stylists and apprentices from all over Durban, creating a variety of unique and original styles.
The apprentices took part in two categories: Gent’s Cut and Avant-Garde.
The qualified stylists took part in the EOHCB Salon of the Year category, in a theme called ‘Up-Cycling: From Trash to Trend’, which involved using recycled materials to make their models’ outfits.
Zephyr Hair Design featured an up-cycled wedding dress made from old banner material, designed and created by ‘Crushed Lemon’. The team created a fantastic vibe with their passionate and enthusiastic approach, and the event was a fun learning experience for all involved.
