Since opening its doors at the beginning of this year, the Upper Highway Roller Skating Club has grown from eight to 46 members in just a few months, with the original eight girls attending the SA Champs in July.
After a visit from Wendy Gila, president of Roller Sport South Africa in November 2014, and receiving a personal invite to compete at the SA Champs, the girls started training in artistic roller skating. They have spent many long hours training, with the ultimate goal of winning SA Champs and making their families, friends and club proud.
