In July 2014, Hillcrest Primary was on the cover of The Crest for its stunning elephant mural. Now, the local school is at it again, with a gorgeous collection of nature paintings by street artist Giffy.
The Thomas More College old boy admits to being an “average” artist until teacher, Mrs Perrisinotto, encouraged him to explore the possibilities of spray paint. “Once I found a love for spray painting, it consumed my life. I paint what I love and learn from every piece I paint.
“I am honoured to be able to paint in a public place that can be appreciated by all. Inspiring our youth is one of my ultimate goals. I believe our youth need proper stimulation and awareness of the world around us. If I can paint nature in all its glory, in a way that stops kids in their tracks and creates awareness of the incredibly rad animals we are surrounded by, I am happy.”
