It’s always wonderful when you get to know local businesses well enough to regard them as friends, and we’re really lucky on the Ridge to have so many that fall into that category.

Hair on Edge is one, a mother and son run business which prides itself on treating customers like friends. Co-owner Tyron really takes the hair he cuts seriously, and feels that the way his clients look is his walking advertisement, so tries to make sure that each client’s hairstyle reflects their personality and lifestyle.
He has worked at Rush in London, and now spends a lot of his time at competitions and following new trends in the hair fashion industry. His close bond to his glamorous mum is evident in the easy way they work together and in the atmosphere in the salon, where a chat and a glass of champagne are almost as much fun as the haircut.
New stylists bring new blood to the shop and the prize-winning new additions to the staff include hairdressers who have won prizes for colouring – an art in itself – and cutting.
If you haven’t tried this oasis of calm in the Flanders Mall, then it’s time to give it a try. You’ll emerge looking fabulous, feeling relaxed, with your shoulders massaged free of knots and your hair shining.
