The Municipality has given notice that the Ward Committee elections will take place on 19 August in all Wards within the eThekwini boundaries.
The Ward Committee election in Ward 10 will take place on Sunday 19th August 12 noon at the Kloof Town Hall. All residents that are registered at a voting station in Ward 10 are encouraged to attend the elections of their Ward Committee and vote for their preferred candidates.
If you were registered to vote in the 2011 elections at one of the following voting stations you are eligible:
• Kloof High School
• Kloof Town Hall
• Kloof Tennis Club
• Gillitts Community Hall
• Hillcrest Library Activities Room
• New Life Family Church.
The requirements to be a candidate for the Ward 10 Ward Committee are:
• Must be a registered voter at one of the above voting stations.
• Is elected by his / her interest group to serve on the committee.
• Is not indebted to the Municipality for a period longer than 3 months.
• Is not an employee of the Municipality.
• Is not a Community Development Worker or a Cadre/foot soldier appointed by any National or Provincial Government Department.
• Has not been convicted after 1997 of an offence which he/she was sentenced to imprisonment without the option of a fine for a period of not less than 12 months; and
• Is not a person of unsound mind who has been declared so by a competent court.
