The Knights’ newsletter (dated November 24, 2011) states, “2011 seems to have flown by with the blink of an eyelid. We are almost at the end of another eventful year in all aspects of school life at Northwood. Grade 8s are almost at the end of their 1st year at high school while the matrics of 2011 have reached the end of their school careers.”

Speech day: The Annual Senior Speech Day and Prizegiving was held on Friday, October 14, 2011 with old boy Gary Paul as the Guest speaker.
There was a flashback to the past when Ben Meadows was announced Dux for 2011. Twenty nine years earlier, in 1982, his father, Dave Meadows and current board member, was announced Dux of Northlands Boys High School.
Reunion weekend: Some of the highlights of the year for this staunch group of old boys included a reunion weekend: The reunion weekend, with its new format, got off to a great start with the dinner on the Friday night, which was well attended, and then on Saturday, for the clash against Kearsney, there was an amazing turnout from old boys young and old. The rugby and hockey teams did Northwood proud and the school looks forward to some interesting sporting times ahead.”
Past Head Prefects share some special memories: Brian Gow, Chris de Wet, Stefan Botha, Wayne Francis, Andrew Parsons, Neil Brimacombe, Paul Brown and Mitchell Wittstock
Sportsmen’s banquet: “The annual Sportsmen’s Banquet was held on Tuesday, October 11, 2011, and was the biggest yet with 420 guests attending. Grant Bashford, an old boy as well as an ex teacher, was the guest speaker on the evening and he encouraged the sportsmen to work hard and remain committed to achieving their sporting dreams.”
Circle of Valour Dinner: “The prestigious Circle of Valour Dinner was held on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at The Riverside Hotel and was enjoyed by all who attended. Wayne Francis, as MC, led the evening through a veritable smorgasbord of past pupils’ achievements, which the school can be truly proud of. Four of the five recipients were on hand to receive their awards. Paul Blackbeard could not make it out from Australia but Nigel du Trevor was there to accept the award on his behalf.”
