If you have a loved one that is no longer with us and would like to remember them, please donate to the Highway Hospice Tree of Light.
Since 1992, Highway Hospice has been holding this unique ceremony in Durban and it is one of their most important appeals of the year.
It will be taking place in Jameson Park (opposite Mitchell Park) on Friday 28th November and they would love for you to join them in this beautiful and touching ceremony which is a time to remember loved ones who are no longer with us.
Proceedings start at 6:00pm with Christmas themed music supplied by Highway Hospice’s dedicated volunteer musicians. There will be food stalls but you are welcome to bring a picnic basket and blanket along, and don’t forget your umbrella in case it rains – there will be a couple of tents up for shelter just in case.
You will also be encouraged to buy a candle and light it on the night.
The actual lighting of the tree takes place at 7:45pm (weather permitting) when over 9,000 globes light up with a soft radiance. The tree will shine throughout December.
If you would like to remember a loved one for this special event, please let Highway Hospice have your donation of R40 per globe. Kindly fill in the enclosed form to indicate who you are remembering so that your dedication can be put in the Book of Remembrance.
Corporates are invited to sponsor the star on the top of the tree for R10 000 as a shining symbol of your love, care and concern for our community. Your company name will have a special page at the front of their Book of Remembrance and will receive mention on social media as well as being mentioned on the night. You will also be issued with a Section 18a tax certificate.
Please join Highway Hospice for this unique and memorable occasion – it is a truly touching experience.
Kindly phone Heather or Cathy on 031 208 6110 or email heather@hospice.co.za should you require more information.
