It is with great excitement that Land Rover Durban has announced that they will again be sponsoring the Horse and Wine Festival, to be held at the Durban Shongweni Club from 24-27 April 2014.
The 40 High End Stalls, together with the 5 Wine Estates, and 3 Craft Beer Breweries, will be housed under a Bedouin Tent, supplied by Chester Foster of Global Extreme.
This will be situated overlooking the main events arena which will ensure that while festival revellers are enjoying good food, wine and shopping, they will not miss out on the wonderful array of arena events that are sure to keep spectators young and old enthralled until late into the evening.
The Horse and Wine Festival commences with the Warm Up Classes for the Dressage SA Challenge on the Thursday and runs through to the Sunday. Saturday morning will see Dressage until approximately midday.
From then on the main arena will be abuzz with arena events from Agility Dogs, Horses of the World, Vintage Jalopies, Mounted Fancy Dress for Children, Carriage Driving, Novelty Pairs Jumping Event (with R5,000 up for grabs), The Ringmaster, Police Display, Elvis on Stage and the Singing Cowboy, who is back by popular demand.
To keep children entertained during the day there will be a Jumping Castle, Mechanical Bull, Clowns and Face Painting, David and Goliath Pony Rides and more!
There is a nominal entry fee of R50 per Adult, with the first 400 guests each receiving a Land Rover Durban wine glass. Families of 3 pay R130, families of 4 pay R150.
For the very first time you will be entertained by the originality of ‘Equidance’ – a beautiful black stallion dressed in red and a pair of dancers.
The Cable Stitch Pairs Jumping Event will see riders in Fancy Dress racing around a course of jumps at 1,10m high. The first rider must jump the odd numbered jumps and his partner the even ones. They must be completed in numerical order around the twisting track and against the clock.
You can enjoy all of this whilst sipping your favourite glass of wine or Craft Beer, or browsing through the many handpicked quality stalls, tasting the olives, biltong, cheese and many other delights which are in store for you.
