This Sunday, 18 December sees the launch of the Bruno and Debbie Trust at Zacks, Wilsons Wharf. These two Durban sailors were taken hostage by Somali pirates in October 2010 at the entrance to the Mozambique/Madagascar Channel and the pirates are demanding a ransom for their return.
Enjoy a special ZACKKATTACK performance at Wilson’s Wharf this weekend in support of Bruno and Debbie – and getting them home. Arranged by host Steve Fataar, the event will be the first of a number of events intended to raise funds for the Durban hostage couple.
“We are so grateful for this opportunity and to the musical family, both on stage and off, who have so generously given of their time and expertise. We desperately need this kind of help,” says Bruno’s sister, Vera, who will be at the event to campaign for her brother and to present her plea.
The show starts at 7 pm and will continue until about 11.30pm, with a line-up including The Class of 031, John Ellis, Steve Fataar, Rowan Stuart, Phase, Toni Rowland and Ross Tapson. There will also be Christmas hampers and raffles.
