Investor networking session for the Freight and Logistics industry
On 22 September 2015 the Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) in partnership with Price Waterhouse Coopers (PwC) and eThekwini Transport Authority (ETA) hosted an investor networking session for the Freight and Logistics industry. The aim of the investor networking session was to make Durban business aware of the opportunities inherent in the GO!Durban project.
The DCCI through its Policy and Advocacy department aims to support the Business Vision for the Economic Development of Durban. The Chamber initiated the Business Vision to challenge the Business community in eThekwini, to apply its collective mind to encourage local economic development. The investor networking breakfast spoke to Goal 1, 2, 6 and 8 of the Business Vision for the Economic Development of Durban.

Goal 2: Institutional partnership and collaboration
Goal 6: The provision and maintenance of adequate infrastructure
Goal 8: The achievement of ‘’International Destination’’ status for leisure, business and other tourists
eThekwini Transport Authority (ETA) will not only transform our city through the GO!Durban project by making it more caring and accessible, but there are a host of investment opportunities that come with this transformation. Together we aim to unlock the true potential of our city.
The key note speaker at the investor networking session was Gavin Maasdorp, a Freight Specialist. Paul Sessions from eThekwini Municipality presented the 5 year Freight and Logistics plan followed by a Question and Answer session facilitated by Logan Moodley from eThekwini Municipality. Thami Manyathi, Head of eThekwini Transport Authority concluded the session with a summary and closing remarks.
