The delightful and understated Superchef that is Jackie Cameron from Hartford House has written the most wonderful cookery book called Jackie Cameron Cooks at Home.
If you only buy one this year, make it hers.
As well as being someone I value as a friend, Jackie is one of my favourite cooks and this book reflects her personality and love of the kitchen.
Jackie grew up in a household where cooking was an integral part of family life. With a grandfather who had his own butchery, and a mother and grandmother who loved cooking, this is a book that shows her love of appreciating friends and customers through her preparation of a meal.
The book is broken down into breakfast, morning tea and so on, and you will find wonderful recipes in each section which are all innovative and bring something new to dishes you will probably already love.
Try the Chocolate Crepe Tower….pancakes layered with chocolate mousse in a delicious mouth-watering stack.
I cannot recommend this highly enough. Local, lekker and for R250 a bargain. Find it at all good bookstores and online at Kalahari.
