What would Easter be without chocolate?
Easter also marks the April holidays, which raises the question: how to keep our little bundles of energy entertained?
The good news is that Easter is the ideal time to keep creative minds engaged, using items that you have at home to craft your own Easter décor. It’s really simple – all its takes is some paper, paint, glue, glitter, a few stickers, some Easter eggs– and your imagination of course.
To begin, take a step back in time to your own childhood. Do you remember the fun you used to have with paper mache? The first idea is to create delicate Easter egg nests made out of paper mache.
DIY paper mache Easter nest:
- Cover a small bowl with plastic wrap and flip it upside down onto wax paper
- Take another bowl and mix equal parts of glue and water together to make a consistent paste
- Dip some shredded paper into the mixture and immediately apply onto the bowl until it’s covered
- For a “nesty” look, remember to press some dry paper shreds along the outside of the bowl
- Allow it to dry overnight and then pull the wrap and bowl away and there you have it – lovely handmade bowls
