Holidays mean one thing- travelling!
And whether it’s to family an hour-or-two away or to a more far-flung destination there is definitely going to be some car travel involved.
Top tips for travelling with kids:
Be realistic with time planning
The reality is that travelling with kids does take longer so plan for this in advance. Leave earlier, chop your journey into managble chunks and leave enough ‘rest time’ for stops.
Bring new toys and books
Bring some new and exciting for your kids to play with. They should hold their attention for longer because of its novelty. Also remember to pack your children’s favourites.
Use technology that is available
Embrace the age of increased technology use. Ipads and tablets are great attention-holders allowing your children to easily watch movies and play games.
Pack individual parcels
This is a good idea especially for longer trips. Packing individual parcels with snacks, juices, wetwipes and medicine (if need be) makes handing out and handling food so much easier. Less hassle means less chance of squabbles.
Healthy food equals happy tummies
Some ideas for snacks are crackers, cheese blocks, fruit muffins and little yogurts. Also remember to pack juices/drinks that have a lid and therefore are less likely to spill.
Pleasent travelling!
