Therapeutic Hypnosis is different to stage show hypnosis. In hypnosis, the client learns to go into a light hypnotic trance and in this state, they are able to access their subconscious.
Our subconscious controls our habits, emotions, memories and has a unique and powerful ability to assist the client.
How can hypnosis help children?
Hypnosis works very well with children. Children naturally and easily enter the hypnotic state. They don’t have the reflective ability or the history of adults so the process is much simpler.
We use a fun story time to induce trance and then we give the child direct suggestions that are always framed in the positive. Typical issues are concentration, behaviours, unwanted habits, anxieties and fears and phobias. Feedback from parents has been excellent.
What sort of things can hypnosis help with?
Typical issues include smoking cessation, unwanted habits, obsessive-compulsive behaviours, weight loss, stress, pain management, anxiety, fears and phobias and social anxiety.
How many sessions will I need?
We plan for two to three sessions. Hypnosis is very different in that it is a tool that works fast as it uses the subconscious. Many clients will complain they “know” that something is bad for them but can’t stop. A typical example is smoking. This is precisely when hypnosis can be effective as it deals with that part of our psyche that our rational thought processes cannot access.
