KZN Oktoberfest bigger than ever

By The Crest Magazine23/08/20132 Mins Read

Pecanwood Oktoberfest was attended by over 5000 people last year and this year promises to be even better, when KZN’s biggest beer fest gets underway from 5 to 6 October at Pecanwood Farm in the KZN Midlands.

With the goal of becoming the biggest Oktoberfest outside of Germany, Pecanwood Oktoberfest will feature over 45 different types of beer to taste as well as a full range of Distell’s brands and beverages for those who don’t drink beer.

There will also be an array of traditional German cuisine available, with many different foods to taste.

The activities will include a beer pong championship, where the winning team will win a trip to Germany to the original Oktoberfest in Munich (pre-entries only), as well as dodge ball, KZN’s biggest slide, boat races, mechanical bull, human foosball, bungee trampoline, free weekend giveaways and the Oktoberfest craft village.

Entertainment will be provided by the Chris Wigens Oompah Band as well as some of KZN’s top DJ’s and bands playing well into the night.

Gates open at 10am on Saturday 5 October and close at 12pm on Sunday 6 October.

The ticket includes free camping, so there is no excuse to drink and drive! Strictly no alcohol allowed into the event as there will be a cash bar available.

Pre-booked tickets are available from Computicket for R120. Tickets will be more expensive at the gate, so be sure to book early!

Strictly no under 18’s permitted.
