Alessandro Crudele returns to the City Hall stage for a second week to lead the final concert of the KZN Philharmonic’s Spring Season. World-renowned cellist, Jérôme Pernoo, will perform the new edition of Offenbach’s Cello Concerto in G-Major or “Concerto Militaire”, for which he also wrote the cadenza.
The season will draw to a climactic close with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5, a work which is so famous that it does not even require an introduction. The opening of this symphony has been used frequently in popular culture – in television, film and music.
Programme: Offenbach – Concerto Militaire, Violincello and Orchestra in G Major
Beethoven – Symphony No. 5 in C Minor, Opus 67
