Look out for the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra annual Starlight Pop Opera Concert, to be held in Umhlanga at the Chris Saunders Park next to Gateway on Saturday, August 6 from 5.30pm.
The line-up includes accomplished soprano Hanli Stapela, talented saxophonist Shannon Mowday, entertainer and singer Joseph Clark (well known for his roles in Queen, Queen, The Show Must Go On and The Buddy Holly Story), Juanita Kruger, former Tree63 frontman John Ellis, South African Idols 2010 runner-up and current hit-maker L’loyd Cele and the Cape Flats Tenors.
Popular American conductor Dr Leslie B Dunner will control proceedings from the podium while TV personality Leanne Manas will act as the Master of Ceremonies.
L’loyd Cele is fast making a name for himself with a string of hits on radio, including Make it Easy and Thanks to you. He is tipped as one of South Africa’s brightest pop talents. Local lad John Ellis renowned for his success and numerous top 10 hits with Tree 63.
