The Beverley Hills Hotel are putting on yet another exciting and different event this June, showcasing the Vanessa Goosen story. Vanessa’s book, Drug Muled, follows events in 1994 when Vanessa was duped into carrying books containing kilos of heroin into Bangkok.
She was sentenced to death which was subsequently commuted to fifteen years in prison and she arrived back to a very different South Africa, having been on the brink of a modelling career and a finalist in Miss SA when she was arrested. This book is the story of her time in prison, and the deprivation involved. The Beverley Hills Luncheon will give you a chance to hear from Vanessa, the harrowing story of how she had to give up her beloved daughter at the age of three while behind bars and the story of her depression at mothering from behind bars.
This somewhat challenging subject will be aired over a three course lunch and bubbly for R295 and takes place at 12pm for 12.30pm on June 27th.
