Local Hillcrest author, Paige Weideman, has published her first book, Petals of Petunia Place.
As a young South African author Paige feels it is important to first connect with her hometown community, Hillcrest.
Married and with a 4 year old little girl Paige is a teacher by profession but a dreamer by heart and her dream was to take all the little stories she told the kids in her class and put them onto paper.
This book was inspired by her own Grandmother who taught her how to use her imagination from a very young age, as well as the importance of reading books.
“I have noticed a huge gap in our new generation where children don’t have imagination and can’t think creatively. I wanted this book to open their minds up to a world thought to be impossible.”
Petals is a whimsical story of adventure, magic and imagination. The story is of a group of girls exploring the mundain to find magic hidden in the most unusual places! For children ages 5-10 years old this part 1 of a little series is designed to teach children to believe in the unbelievable all with the power of one magical granny!
