Mandela Day calls on all of us, every day, to make the world a better place. Each year on 18 July we look back on what has been done and forward to what will be done. Making every day a Mandela Day celebrates Madiba’s life and legacy in a sustainable way that will bring about enduring change.
What can you do?
No matter how small your action, Mandela Day is about changing the world for the better, just as Nelson Mandela did every day. What are you doing to make the world a better place? What are you doing to make every day a Mandela Day by taking action against poverty?
Positive change was the gift left to all of us by Nelson Mandela, but it can only become a living legacy if we take up his challenge. In the spirit of Madiba and his vision to spread social justice and freedom for all, this is your chance to become part of a continuous global movement for good.
By becoming someone who makes every day a Mandela Day by taking action against poverty, you can show others that actions speak louder than words.
By giving a little of your time each day to making a change that’s close to your heart or by giving a little of your time to make a difference to the life of someone else, you can start changing the world around you.

Places to Volunteer This Mandela Day
SANBS
Less than 1% of South Africans are active blood donors. A unit of blood only lasts 42 days after donation and, for this reason, it is important for blood donors to donate regularly. Donors can give blood as often as every eight weeks Every unit of blood can save a minimum of three lives as blood is separated into red blood cells, plasma and platelets. Domino Foundation
This year the Domino Foundation invites all corporates, schools and individuals to rally behind the Mandela Day call and join the #DominoEffect of transforming lives! As we celebrate the 100th year of Madiba’s birth, they want to invite YOU to join them and tackle one of TWO exciting challenges while you serve your local community for 67 minutes on Wednesday 18 July – either on-site at Domino, or off-site at your own office or school. Grace Family Church Umhlanga Campus
Spend your 67 minutes at Grace Umhlanga Campus where they will have a range of activities you and your colleagues can be part of on 18 July from 11am to 2pm. Get involved in making sandwiches, rolling yarn, planting seedlings, or donating blood and more. Your efforts will benefit a number of NGO partners, and throughout the day they will be building the South African flag out of cupcakes.
