Makeover: keep it simple

By The Crest Magazine28/12/20162 Mins Read

Jacqui Bowden of Westville recently visited Fay and Megan of Image Insured and discovered that she was a “spring” with warm skin tones.

“Many people make the mistake of enhancing the tone their skin throws out, instead of counteracting it,” says Fay. “The colour clothing that Jacqui was attracted to, combined with her bleached blonde hair, enhanced the pinkness of her skin. We brought a lot of warmth into her hair, make-up and clothing to balance her skin tone.”

Jacqui’s Figure Analysis revealed an “A-shape” body, which means that she carries her weight on the lower half of her body. An “A-shape” typically has shorter legs and a longer torso, so Fay and Megan created the illusion of longer legs with darker, tighter-fitting jeggings and disguised her tummy area with a looser-fitting top. The result? A taller, slimmer silhouette.

The Shopping Spree took place in Image Insured’s shop in the Delcairn Centre, Kloof, where Fay and Megan dressed Jacqui in their own colour co-ordinated clothing range, Seasons, which they designed and had made in Durban. The pair’s wealth of knowledge on skin tones and body shapes means that the whole range is flattering and easy to wear, making shopping a breeze!

A big thank you to Didier of Entropy for doing Jacqui’s hair.
