Marilyn’s Tea House is fast becoming one of the most popular venues in the Upper Highway area to gather and visit with family and friends. In recent months there has been immense improvements, changes and refurbishments in and around the magnificent old farmhouse and gardens, all of which have added more appeal to the already stunning environment.
The grand old house, with its wrap around veranda, is one of the original farmhouses ever built in Kloof. The veranda, with drop down blinds for protection from the wind and rain, now offers comfortable seating for approximately 40 people, with views of the garden and nursery. Inside the house is an intimate and cosy 12 seater restaurant for those looking for a little more privacy and this venue can also double up as a small conference room for corporate meetings comfortably seating 10 delegates. For families and friends, wishing to sit in the gardens and enjoy the sunshine and fresh air there is now ample seating to sit and eat.
The tea garden restaurant offers a menu with choices for breakfast and lunch, as well as an array of delectable, home baked cakes to satisfy any sweet tooth. Hot and cold beverages are also on sale and freshly made popcorn is now available for the children. Every Saturday, last Sunday of the month and public holidays, a sumptuous breakfast buffet is on offer in the garden where people can eat, relax and enjoy the ambiance and the live music presented by Belinda Dolphin and friends.
For those wishing to catch up on some work while relaxing over a fresh scone and cappuccino, there’s free Wi Fi available- an ideal opportunity to mix business with pleasure!
Pensioners are invited every Thursday for a 10% discount on their meal from the “Specials Menu” and a free cup of coffee or tea. Pensioners will also be able to enjoy a scone with jam and cream as well as a cup of coffee or tea for only R20.

In keeping with our SPCA’s policy of zero tolerance for cruelty to animals all meat products and eggs used in the menu items have been carefully sourced from various free range farms in and around Kwa Zulu Natal. Free range eggs are available for sale at the tea garden daily.
