Maris Stella nurtures each girl’s individual talent, enabling her to flourish on her own and as a unique member of a time-honoured, but future-facing, sisterhood. To see if Maris Stella is the right fit for your daughter, join them at their High School Open Evening on 12 Feb, Junior and Senior Primary Open Day on 13 Feb, or their Pre-School Open Day on 29 Feb.
Girls are requested to please wear their current school uniform where possible.
Maris Stella’s Principal, Joan Schmidt, said that they are exceptionally proud of their Class of 2019, whose hard work and commitment to excellence led them to achieve a 100% pass rate and many personal bests.
“We are so fortunate to have such a dedicated, passionate team of staff from pre-school to matric, who continue to inspire our girls to be the best version of themselves, and the heroines of their own stories. We need to prepare our youth for jobs that are yet to exist. This means that rather than drilling dates and facts, we encourage a more holistic learning environment. We want our girls to ask questions, to find their own solutions, to come up with innovative techniques and ideas through a structured yet progressive process. We want to raise girls who are solution-driven, entrepreneurial, but more importantly, community-conscious. They must want the world to be a better place for everyone through their actions.”
“We are undoubtedly standing here, on the cusp of very real change, but we are hopeful. The young women who are taking a stand against gender-based violence make us hopeful. The young women who are taking a stand against a lack of policy protecting our children and our futures make us hopeful. And the young women of Maris Stella make us hopeful.”
“Remember that positive change is always happening – and if you cannot see it, then be it. Because in the words of Mother Teresa: “Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.”
