The Meercats Music Festival – traditionally held around this time of year when there is the least chance of rain – will feature ten bands in a 12-hour event that starts at 11am on Saturday, May 14th.
This year’s festival will host Salty Ritz, Dilligaf, Cheap Bad Habits, DV8, East Coast Basement Blues Band, Amanzimtexas, Undusted Bookends, Glenwood Music Village Band, Gem-In-Eye and the Glen Winter Country Band.
The festival, which is held for no other reason than to have some fun, attracted more than 350 people last year.
Apart from the music, there will be three cash bars, lots of food stalls, kiddies’ entertainment (jumping castle, jungle gym, face painting, magician, swimming pool), and plenty of secure parking with car guards in attendance all day and night.
Entry is R40 per person; R10 for under-11s.
