Spring has arrived with a bang – bringing much-needed rain, although people and pets may disagree… Hillcrest and surrounding areas have experienced continuous rainfall for 36 hours, with more to come.
WeatherSA.co.za has issued a weather warning for heavy rainfall and very cold conditions on the southwestern high ground.

There are reports of standing water and flooding on the M13 and N2 between Umhlanga and Spaghetti Junction. As such, residents are warned to drive carefully, reduce speed and keeping good distance between you and the vehicle in front of you.
It’s not all bad, though. Local conservancy associations have been conducting controlled burns of the grassland – a necessary part of the natural lifecycle. With all this rain, the wildflowers in Everton and other areas will be spectacular this year!
