Materials:
• 1 piece of coloured paper (8.5″ x 11″)
• 2 muffin wrappers
• 1 green paper straw
• White glue
• A small piece of floral foam
• Small pot
• 1 picture of cute kid
• Scissors
• Stapler
• Colourful candy, marbles, rocks – anything to give the pot a little weight
• Paints (optional) to paint the pots
Directions:
Paint the pots – let your kids go wild!
Cut a piece of Styrofoam to fit into the pot.
Draw or print a flower onto coloured paper and cut it out, as well as a small circle to fit the centre of the flower.
Print out one of mom’s favourite pictures of her cute kid. The circle gives you a template for your picture. Using a pencil, trace the circle and then cut it out.
Next you’re going to attach the straw to the flower using the stapler. The straw is paper, so it will staple really easily. Attach one of the muffin wrappers to the flower over the straw. If you’re super coordinated and want to staple them both at once, go for it.
Using some glue, apply to the back of the picture then stick onto the muffin wrapper. The last step is to cover the foam and push the second muffin wrapper into the bottom of the pot. Using the scissors, make a small hole in the middle of the wrapper and then poke your straw down into the pot and into the foam. I added some gumballs to the pot to give it a little weight. If you’re using small terracotta pots, you won’t need to weigh it down.
