Rapunzel will be running at The Catalina Theatre, 18 Boatman’s Way, Wilson’s Wharf from 2 December until 4 January. Shows will be daily at 2pm weekdays and 11am Saturdays. This is traditional family theatre fare and will suit ages two to 92. Following the lines of the original tale written in 1812 by the Brother’s Grimm, Director Sandy Bigara has used her comedy skill to weave a story that is dramatic as well as funny. There will be a prize giveaway at each performance, and after the show there will be an opportunity to have a photo with Rapunzel herself!
The cast members are the gorgeous Chanel Meager in the role of Rapunzel, Savanna Bigara in the role of the young Rapunzel as well as Rapunzel’s cat. Kimeshan Kandan is dashing Prince Mortimer, and the “spellbinding” Ndalo Mchunu will be the evil Crone.
Francis Doherty-Bigara, the new General Manager of The Catalina Theatre has now partnered with John Dory’s (for adult shows) and Casadena Spur on Wilson’s Wharf for children’s shows. They have just completed a brand new amazing children’s indoor play area, which allows parents and family to relax over lunch while their children play safely nearby. Spur has also put its gorgeous harbour boat at the theatre’s disposal to bring you a multi-optional family fun day and show experience. While on the cruise your little one can steer the boat. A photo of your small ship captain costs approximately R20 cash.
