Putting the ‘fun’ in fundraising is what The Ratt Race is all about, so come and support this fantastic initiative taking place over the weekend of 19-21 July.
The goal is to raise money for the David Rattray foundation, which supports locally-based education initiatives, including almost twenty schools in KwaZulu-Natal.
Everyone is welcome to join in, either by participating or by standing on the sidelines and shouting for their favourite athlete. Competitors can take place in the running or cycling events on Saturday 20 July, with all proceeds being donated to the Foundation.
The setting for the race, which takes place along public dirt roads through the battlefields of Northern KZN, is scenic and full of history as the route winds past Rorke’s Drift and under the shadow of Isandlwana.
Nedbank Private Wealth has pledged its support by coming on board as the main partner, while Life Healthcare, SATIB Insurance Brokers, Identipet, Internet Solution, and HMS have all offered their sponsorships to this wonderful cause.
Raffle tickets can also be purchased, with a fantastic prize sponsored by Wilderness Safaris up for grabs.
“The Ratt Race was started by a bunch of our mates many years ago. We wanted to do something in honour of my late husband, David, who did so much good while he was alive, and now, even in his death, is still able to contribute to this community and continue to live through this foundation, making this world a better place to be,” said owner of Fusgitives Drift and race organiser Nicky Rattray.
