Diana’s engagement ring, which is now worn by Prince William’s fiancée, actually belonged to his brother Prince Harry, according to Media24’s entertainment site Channel24.
Gossip site PopEater reported that younger brother Prince Harry received the priceless ring after his mother Diana’s tragic death in 1997.
It’s reported that after her death, Prince Charles took his sons to Diana’s home where they each chose keepsakes to remember their mother by.
Di’s ring belonged to Harry, not William
Harry chose his mother’s sapphire engagement ring while William chose her Cartier watch.
You’d imagine William probably sprung Di’s stunning engagement ring on Kate as a surprise; imagine her shock when he whipped out the ring Di left for Harry.
While you may have thought that Harry would be miffed at these developments, Royal insiders report that the younger prince was happy to give the ring to William as “that’s the way Diana would have wanted it”. Oh well, that’s what brothers are for.
Prince Charles bought the ring for more than £30 000 in 1981, but today it’s absolutely priceless because of its history and the global obsession with Diana’s life story. – Ridge Reporter

I think it’s wonderful that Harry gave that ring to his brother. Shows what a generous person he is and the relationship that he and William have. I’m sure it would have made his mother proud.
