It’s almost Father’s Day and what better way to make for an unforgettable experience than by dining in the celebrated Cargo Hold Restaurant, one of Durban’s most spectacular settings. Toast to dad with a taste sensation that will make his day!
There will be an array of delicious starter options from which you can choose: from Timbale of Marinated Salmon and Teriyaki Prawns (served on crisp vegetables, roasted cashew nuts and a citrus sesame dressing); Beef Carpaccio (rosemary and garlic rolled peppered beef accompanied by a herbed bouquet, shaved pecorino and a truffle mayonnaise); Cargo Greek Salad (V) (traditional Greek salad served Cargo Hold style with lettuce, cherry tomatoes, olives, onion and cucumber); to Potato and Leek Soup (topped with garlic flavoured croutons).
Then move on to the selection of delectable main course options including: Linefish of the Day (simply grilled with herbs and spices, lemon and olive oil served with French fries); Mozambique Peri-Peri Chicken (flame grilled ½ chicken served with French fries & a side salad); Prawns National (7 prawns grilled to perfection and served with peri-peri and lemon butter sauces); for meat lovers try the Cargo Fillet (fillet steak finished with a Simonsberg blue cheese and rosemary sauce on a bed of crushed new baby potatoes); and for the vegetarian lovers a Phantom Ship Gnocchi (soft potato dumplings tossed in cheese sauce, napped with a tomato and basil sauce).
To end off this special day, spoil dad with a choice of dessert with these options: Mud Pudding (rich, moist chocolate pudding steam baked to perfection, soaked in rich syrup and covered with a chocolate sauce); Tiramisu (Italian cheesecake layered with home-made Boudoir biscuits soaked in espresso and dusted with cocoa mass); or the Cargo classic, the Crème Brûlée (rich chilled custard, sprinkled with granulated sugar and caramelized) – tempting treats for that sweet tooth!
All diners have the option of having either a starter and a main course or a main course and dessert for R180. If you decide to do it all, the set menu will be R225 per head which includes a special treat for dads on arrival. Reservations are essential.
