Founded in 1906, St Mary’s is an Independent Christian Girls’ school from Grade R to Matric – offering boarding from Grade 8.
They don’t just instil the values that create young women of character, they inspire young minds to think, cultivating the curiosity to explore their world.
“St Mary’s is a school with many traditions and has a strong sense of history and identity. It is important for our girls to feel valued and supported at school so that they believe in themselves and understand that they have a valuable role to play in our community and our country. Being a Christian school, these ideas are reinforced by our motto of “Service before Self, God before All”, which is a constant reminder of our roots and responsibilities,” says Jonathan Manley, Executive Principal.
St Mary’s is a place where each girl can flourish and belong – cultivating her curiosity, embracing her successes and failures and developing the character and confidence to thrive in life.
Remarkable, inspired, excellent…
are not words to cast shadows,
but the foundation for a bright future.
These are not things you simply become,
but things you build towards.
We believe that every girl who walks through
our gates,
walks towards a brighter future.
We give her a place to belong,
a place to grow,
in character, in confidence, in conviction.
With lessons in respect, kindness and selflessness,
That will take her far.
At the heart of what we do, is heart.
Rooted in faith, in God,
we strive to instil life-long values
empowering our girls to not only face the future,
but thrive in it.
We believe in holistic learning.
An education that goes beyond the classroom –
to the field, the stage, the community.
We cultivate curiosity,
not just teaching our girls, but teaching them to think.
We don’t educate girls for the future,
we educate girls to create their own future.
Because girls who are inspired become remarkable women.
