Well known chef Talya Botha, formerly of Umami, recently launch her Gourmet sauce range “CATCH” at Bartho’s Fish Co at 12 Mackeurtan Avenue, Durban North. See picture gallery below.
Guests jumped at the chance to sample all the delicious sauces on offer and a great time was had by all.
Bartho’s Fish Co was opened recently by top canoeists, brothers Daryl and Brett Bartho.
About Talya Botha: Talya Botha, well known in culinary circles for her previous venture, “Umami Restaurant” in Salt Rock, graduated from Cape Town’s respected Silwood Kitchens Cordons Bleus Cookery School.
A seasoned international chef, she has cooked in award winning restaurants, aboard luxury yachts in the Mediterranean, Scottish castles, hunting lodges and ski chalets.
She has now launched the new food product range “CATCH” . Initially the range will include a variety of sauces that made Umami’s reputation.

Amazing evening!! The food was delicious and Talya’s sauces complemented it perfectly. A definite must for Batho’s Fish and Talya’s sauces
I was wondering whether the Barthos have a database – can they let customers know when fresh fish comes in? Or if there’s something special in the shop?
Hi, Brett here from Bartho’s Fish Company, yes we do have a database list here in the shop that we send out regular e-mails to customers letting them know what fresh fish has just come into the shop, as well letting people know of any specials running and some delicious recipes that are given to us by Talya.
