The Biscuitry wouldn’t be what it is today without the loving, consistent support, encouragement and inspiration of my own late mum.
We grew up in a home that always smelled and tasted delicious – homemade meals, jams, and of course biscuits, bakes and treats made ours the kitchen that every friend wanted to come home to after school. Although I never actually grew up baking with my mum, the memories of a scrumptious smelling kitchen, the comfort and love that a home baked cookie straight from the oven could deliver and the idea that I wanted to provide that for my own children and their friends one day, got me baking… with the impetus on handmade with love, using the best ingredients around, the Biscuitry was born.
Many of our friends and fans will tell you that the nostalgia of a Biscuitry biscuit or cookie that tastes “just like the ones my mum – or gran – used to bake” is the reason they come back time and time again. You don’t get that from a factory produced biscuit. And that’s what keeps us baking.
While most of our day to day baking is for the shops, deli’s and coffee shops that retail our bags of beautiful biscuits, we also bake for several corporate clients – from batches of our favourite favourites for serving with coffee to their clients, to customised gifting for their special clients and customers.
We no longer bake customised iced cookies – but our little tubs of Iced Cookie Bites are always a best-seller and make superb birthday party treats and party packs too! The tubs are filled with little heart or flower shaped butter biscuits, iced with royal icing to look and taste like the “zoo biscuits” from our childhood memories! We can change the shape of the biscuits to stars or rounds, and can customise the colour of the icing too.
Everyone’s favourite favourite seems to time and again be our Dreamy Custard Creams – those bright yellow little melt-in-your-mouth yo-yo shaped cookies are the things sweet dreams are made of! We bake them for various occasions too – in full batch sizes, clear polyprop bags tied with luxurious Petersham ribbon, clear PVC tubs and even luxurious (and recyclable!) glass gifting jars. Take your pick and spoil your clients, colleagues, loved ones… and from time to time yourself too!
