If the January blues are biting there is one sure fire way to make yourself feel better, turn left towards the North Coast, drive through the cane, and go to the beach.
On Saturday the Litchi Orchard at Sheffield Beach is having their first market of the year from 9am to 2pm, with the usual eclectic mix of stalls and delicious nibbles in the Cafe. Cool off in the sea afterwards, and come back to Sage for tea and a pizza.
There is serious shopping up in this neck of the woods now, and if you have any money left after Christmas you can splash it on anything from home made chilli jam to a beautiful kid handbag, or skip the beach and get your nails painted on the deck.
You will feel as if you have had an extra day’s holiday, and February will be that little bit closer.
