Learnfast courses aim to improve and up-skill those who want to learn, on a variety of topics that fall into the computer, soft skills and business categories. While the learning programmes are all short course based, they are structured as beginner, intermediate and advanced courses, allowing for the individual to gain maximum value through the intensity and quality of the courses.
“Learnfast is not about massive volumes, rather we cater for people who want to learn and who in turn, expect quality training in a quality facility,” explained Learnfast Durban franchise owner Ray McCallum.
Learnfast was established in 2009 at the offices of Cadco, Centurion, a company specialising in the supply, delivery and support of CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) Systems. Initially catering to the training needs of Cadco, Learnfast quickly saw the potential for a short course training facility offering quality education in a state-of-the-art environment. The result? Offices in Sandton and Boksburg.
Learnfast Durban is the first of its kind in KwaZulu-Natal, based in the upmarket Centenary building in Umhlanga New Town Centre. “When seeking the right location we looked at surrounding businesses and where our trainers wanted to be located – and Umhlanga came out a clear first choice,” said McCallum.
Learnfast currently offers 165 different instructor-led courses that are broken down into computer/IT training for the everyday PC user, business and life skill courses, and dynamic half day workshops – with all relevant courses being Microsoft accredited and many carrying SETA accreditation. And with Learnfast’s aggressive course expansion plan fuelled by continual requests for new courses, the number of courses on offer is set to grow.
“We get feedback from customers on possible new courses, and if they have relevance in the marketplace, we will develop them,” said McCullum. To date this approach has resulted in the development of courses focused on social media, computer programming, film and multi-media, medical training, arts and crafts, and personal growth.
But course content means nothing without skilled trainers – and Learnfast prides itself on quality staff who are experts in their field.
“Learnfast sources the highest calibre of trainer possible, and when we opened in Durban, we were thrilled with the number of quality trainers available,” said McCallum.
