Well, I can’t help myself, as soon as the days start drawing out and the sun shines a bit more warmly, the Oyster Box beckons. This month on the most beautiful Terrace in Natal, the peri-peri chicken, seafood espatatas and other Portuguese specialities are guaranteed to warm you up, just in case there is still a chill in the wind. I don’t need much of an excuse to walk through the Oyster Box doors, but this will do, as will the prospect of breakfast on the Terrace, still my favourite way to start any day. The full combined breakfast comprises everything from bacon and eggs, to Champagne and orange juice, oysters, Cape gooseberries, charcuterie, the list goes on. I always go for the continental at R150 and in my opinion a couple of hours of unrivalled food…the pastries alone are worth the price….some oysters, a dolphin sighting, a couple of glasses of fizz and that view, it’s
the best value in South Africa.
