Organisers of the 54th edition of the Durban Airshow, to be held on July 17 at Virginia Airport, are working flat out to put the finishing touches for the event in place.
This year the show is an action-packed, one day event and the organisers have added a bit of spice by inviting film star John Travolta to attend. Travolta, the star of Pulp Fiction, Saturday Night Fever and many more hit movies recently appeared at the first World Cup match to be played at the Moses Mabhida stadium, between Germany and Australia. On that occasion he was a guest of Quantas Airlines. Travolta flew into King Shaka International on his own Boeing jet.
Other attractions will include SAP parachutists, civilian jets, the Silver Falcons, passenger airliners, skydivers and many acts that will take place on the ground involving aircraft.
