The Elizabeth Gordon Gallery are currently gearing up for their next exhibition, entitled ‘The Year of the Horse’, which opens on Wednesday 1 October at 6pm.
Ceramic artist, Carol Hayward Fell, will be joined by a number of 2D artists who are well known in the KZN art world.
The artists are: Ana de Vlieg, Andrew Verster, Barbara Siedle, Gayle Walters, Heather Gourlay-Coyngham, Jane Digby, Jane Oliver, Jeanette Gilkes, Joan Martin, John Smith, Lara Mellon, Lesley Magwood-Fraser, Maggie Strachan, Marianne Meijer, Michele Silk, Nicole Pletts, Pascale Chandler, Patty Douglas, Renee Leslie and Tony Starkey.
They are all highly respected for their different styles but have responded with great enthusiasm to tackle the subject of the horse which, for many, is new ground.
The exhibition celebrates 2014, which is the year of the horse in the Chinese calendar.
The Year of the Horse exhibition runs from 1 to 11 October, with SA’s top ex-jockey and current racehorse trainer, Michael (Muis) Roberts taking on the role of opening speaker at the official opening on Wednesday 1 October.
