Having just recovered from a week of biting cold and rain, with snow all over the Midlands and Berg, there’s every prospect of a nippy weekend ahead. The Western Cape faced extremely cold weather on Friday and there were even Tweets about snow on Table Mountain. A warning of bitter cold and chances of heavy snowfall in the Eastern Cape, which will move towards KwaZulu-Natal on Saturday. On Friday, The Cape Peninsula experienced extremely cold weather with gale force winds. Rough sea conditions along the Cape coastline, and heavy rains.
Saturday: Min temp 10C, max temp 20C. Cloudy, with strong winds and a good possibility of rain.
Sunday: Min temp 14, max temp 20C. Cloudy with rain and strong winds.
Temperatures will drop to as low as 6C in Maritzburg on Saturday, Giants Castle in the Berg is at 0C.
More snow expected in the Eastern Cape and possibility of snow in the KZN Berg area.
