Police Col Jay Naicker said that five suspects (four men and one woman) arrested in a raid on a hi-tech hydroponic dagga lab in Briar Lane, Durban North on October 21, were to appear in court again on January 20, 2011.
Police required more time to investigate the case, said Naicker.
The Scorpions raided what is believed to have been one of the most sophisticated dagga labs in South Africa and confiscated about R200 000 worth of merchandise. Included in the hydroponic lab were sprinkler systems, floodlights and special fans and ducting systems.
The Scorpions had been monitoring the luxury three-storey house and swooped in a dramatic raid that made front page news and was the talk of the town.
