You don’t have to plan a weekend getaway to sip a Craft beer while savouring some country inspired cuisine. So saddle up, throw on your flannel, boots and denim and rock on to experience a little country this February with a trip to Cargo Hold on February 25th at 6pm.
The Brew master of Red Rocks Craft Beer will be joining in to provide some insightful information on their famous brews and offering tasters of their Rusty Trigger Larger, Bad Moon Crystal Weiss Beer, Storm Rider Pilsner and Nine Inch Ale.
So while supping some tasty brew, dig into the starter options which include sticky buffalo wings (Buffalo wings, battered onion rings, blue cheese dipping sauce); Beer battered haloumi cheese (Beer battered haloumi cheese, salsa dipping sauce) (V) or Steak Quesadillas (Quesadillas, slow-roasted sirloin steak strips, cheese, sour cream, green onions).
Earthy main courses include vegetarian three cheese macaroni (macaroni, cheddar, mozzarella, parmesan, country side garden salad, herb dressing); Craft Burger (Beef burger, smokey streaky bacon, camembert cheese, cranberry sauce and fries); Gourmet Fish burger (Fish burger, coleslaw, sweet potato fries and ranch dipping sauce); Chicken Schnitzel (Fried crumbed chicken breast, creamy garlic linguini, brown mushrooms, and parmesan cheese sauce) or our very special BBQ, honey ribs (Glazed pork spare ribs, creamy mashed potatoes, refried beans).
Bee-sweetening Dessert doesn’t come better than this; select either Toffee Apple Pudding (A rich toffee pudding, stewed apples, toffee sauce, vanilla ice cream) or Country Style Cheesecake (Baked cheesecake served with a raspberry sauce).
Not only is there an amazing night of good food and beer, but the chance to enjoy a sensational music line up on the night, with a live performance by the Kickstands, described by News24 as the band you should know. Made up of Indie’s at heart, Durban duo Gary Nixon and Rudi Greyvenstein have performed at small intimate venues as well as major festivals both in South Africa and abroad; and have performed with and supported many of South Africa’s top musos, that of Goldfish, Just Jinger, Goodluck, Gangs of Ballet, Desmond and the Tutus and Arno Carstens amongst others.
