The Glenashley Preparatory Sports Awards evening was held at St Luke’s church due to school renovations. The evening celebrated a wonderful sporting year with speeches from each sports code recapping and highlighting the year.
Jessica Lardant, a matric learner from Danville Girls, shared her passion and journey through her sporting years as the guest speaker. The learners were then honoured for their achievements in sport, the awards ranged from most improved player to top players in the activity.
The most anticipated part of the evening was the presentation of the Sportsman and Sportswoman of the year awards. In lovely tradition, the 2014 winners got to present the awards to the 2015 winners, and had a chance to share with the audience their journey up to and after their achievements.
This year two ladies attained Sportswoman of the year, Georgina Ferreira and Kayleigh Pillay and the Sportsman award went to Gontse Machaba who is only in grade 6.
