In the past 12 months the Hirsch family have launched three cook books – Margaret’s Living the Vegetarian Life, Luci’s Mum’s On the Run and now Richard and his lovely wife Simone have launched their own gorgeously illustrated His and Hirsch’s.

The cookbook draws some inspiration from Zanzibar, where the couple got engaged, and the recipes are simple and stylish, perfect for the young, professional couple that loves cooking – and eating – great food.
The launch of the cookbook, which was held at the ECR House and Garden Show, was a gastronomic affair, filled with delectable dishes prepared from the cookbook. In collaboration with Elba’s Ramola Makan, well known author of five recipe books, including the world’s first book on Indian Microwave cooking, the couple prepared their favourite recipes in front of excited show goers. On the menu was Italian Fillet, Prawn and Penne Pasta and Simone’s Zanzibar Aubergines.
An interactive kitchen was set up in the Elba stand and as the couple were cooking, show goers had the opportunity to see them live in action as they demonstrated and shared the inspiration and stories behind the recipes.
